Monu Manesar Granted Bail in Nasir-Junaid Murder Case Amid Heavy Police Security

Bhagpat, March 8: Monu Manesar, a cow protector who spent over two and a half years in jail, was released from Sevar Jail after receiving bail from the Jaipur High Court. His release has sparked joy among his supporters, while police have implemented strict security measures.

As Monu Manesar was brought out of jail, he was donned in a bulletproof jacket. Supporters from Haryana arrived to welcome him, and police vehicles escorted his car. Monu Manesar’s lawyer, Naveen Kumar Jangra, stated that after two and a half years, his client has finally regained his freedom. He emphasized, “This case has received significant media attention. Our client is innocent and was framed. Justice will be served soon.”

The case is linked to the murder of Nasir and Junaid from the Ghata Mika village in Rajasthan on February 15, 2023. They were accused of cow smuggling. The police investigation revealed that they were murdered, and their bodies were burned. An FIR was filed at the Gopalgarh police station regarding their disappearance on February 15. The following day, a vehicle was discovered in Haryana’s Bhiwani, containing two skeletons. The investigation confirmed the identities as Nasir and Junaid.

Initially, eight individuals were named as suspects, but the investigation later implicated a total of 22 people, including Monu Manesar. He was arrested in September 2023. This murder case has ignited controversy across the country, leading to heated debates among cow protection organizations and political parties. Supporters of Monu Manesar claim it is a conspiracy, while the victims’ families are demanding justice.

Following his release, supporters of Monu Manesar chanted slogans and gave him a warm welcome. To prevent any untoward incidents, police deployed a significant force. Bhagpat police reported that the situation is under control and security arrangements are fully ensured. While there are concerns about potential tensions in the area due to Monu Manesar’s release, the administration has assured the public of maintaining peace.
