
Varanasi, June 16: A grand and modern Signature Bridge is set to be constructed over the Ganges River in Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s parliamentary constituency. This ambitious project aims to strengthen the infrastructure of Kashi and is expected to enhance tourism, trade, and regional connectivity. It is considered a significant step towards the development of Varanasi.
Divisional Commissioner S. Rajalingam informed the media that the proposed Signature Bridge will be built near the Madan Mohan Malviya Bridge. He stated that the Rail Development Corporation has already commenced work on this project.
The bridge will feature a unique dual-use design, with a six-lane roadway on the upper section and a four-lane railway track below. This innovative structure will facilitate both road and rail traffic simultaneously. The project plan extends from the old postal bridge to the Pandav Chauraha.
Local resident Narendra Singh welcomed the initiative, calling it a major boon for the people of Varanasi. He noted that the new bridge will strengthen transportation systems and alleviate travel-related issues for residents. The integrated road and rail system is expected to accelerate regional development.
Another local citizen, Manish Singh, mentioned that the railway authorities have already begun construction on the Signature Bridge. Prime Minister Modi has launched several important plans and projects for the city’s development as the Member of Parliament for Kashi, benefiting not only Varanasi but also the entire northern region of India. This Signature Bridge will further enhance regional connectivity and significantly ease commuting for the public.
