New Delhi, August 28: International sand artist Manas Kumar Sahu created a poignant sand animation to honor the flood victims in Nepal. The World Buddhist Federation (WBF) expressed deep condolences regarding the tragedy, highlighting the strong ties between India and Nepal, and reaffirming that both nations stand united during this challenging time.
In just 15 minutes, Sahu crafted a touching sand animation that showcased solidarity with the victims of the devastating floods. He called upon people worldwide to come together in prayer, compassion, and support for those affected.
Dr. Parvinder Singh, founding president of the World Buddhist Federation, stated, “Harish Ji (a relative of Nepal’s Prime Minister Balen Shah) is meeting with outsiders and emphasizing that the bond between India and Nepal is significant. We must maintain this relationship and provide maximum assistance to the Nepali people impacted by the floods.”
Dr. Singh emphasized their grassroots efforts, stating that their two main objectives are to provide quality education and ensure good health for the people. “These are their rights, and we work for Nepal based on the knowledge we gained by touching the feet of Lord Buddha,” he added.
He noted that today, 80% of households in Nepal might not have food prepared due to the tragedy. Those who embrace Nepal are also embraced by Lord Buddha. Although Buddha was born in Nepal, he spent most of his life in India, which is why he is more widely accepted there. He urged for peace, highlighting that when Prime Minister Modi spoke, PM Balen Shah also expressed gratitude through a post.
Aman Nath, president of the World Buddhist Federation India, remarked, “The World Buddhist Federation India expresses its heartfelt condolences to those affected by the floods in Nepal. During this difficult time, not only India but the entire world stands with them. We are committed to supporting them in every possible way. Nepal and India share a rich heritage, and our cultures are intertwined, whether it be the birthplace of Mother Sita or the birthplace of Lord Buddha, whose wisdom flourished in India.”
