New Delhi, July 23: ACP Vivek Bhagat, injured during the CJP protest near Jantar Mantar, has been admitted to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital for treatment. According to the hospital’s medical update, he has sustained multiple injuries across various parts of his body. After initial treatment, he expressed a desire to continue his care at AIIMS, New Delhi, and was discharged upon completion of necessary medical examinations.
The RML Hospital reported that during the examination, ACP Bhagat was found to have several injuries on both arms and legs, as well as on his shoulder. Additionally, swelling was noted at the back of his head in the parieto-occipital region. He informed doctors that he experienced bleeding from his ear and had vomited following the incident.
The surgical department’s medical team assessed ACP Bhagat and provided the required treatment. After his medical evaluation, he opted for further treatment at AIIMS, leading to his discharge upon request.
Delhi Police have stated that over 118 police personnel and 60 protesters were injured during the protest at Jantar Mantar. The police reported that more than 20 police vehicles were damaged due to stone-pelting and violence by protesters.
In response to the incident, security measures in the area have been heightened. Police have filed FIRs at various police stations regarding the matter. Injured police officers and protesters are receiving treatment at different hospitals. The CJP protest continues, with demands for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
