Lucknow, April 14: The birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, a Bharat Ratna and the architect of the Indian Constitution, is being celebrated across India, including Uttar Pradesh. On this occasion, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Mayawati paid homage to Dr. Ambedkar at her residence and issued a message to her supporters and party workers.
Mayawati emphasized that if the governments of the country had sincerely implemented the objectives of Baba Saheb’s inclusive and egalitarian Constitution, India would have emerged as a strong and self-reliant nation, free from poverty, unemployment, discrimination, and injustice.
In a post on social media platform X, she wrote, “On this auspicious occasion of my revered Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, I offer my heartfelt tributes and floral offerings. I sincerely thank all BSP members and their families across the nation for paying tribute with a missionary spirit.”
She further stated, “It is well-known that Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar dedicated his entire life to the protection, respect, and upliftment of the ‘Bahujan Samaj,’ including the poor, marginalized, and women suffering from casteism and feudalism. His historic work in ensuring these guarantees in the Constitution has immortalized him, and the nation will always remain grateful to him. However, if the parties in power at the center and in the states had successfully achieved the sacred objectives of Baba Saheb’s humanitarian, inclusive, and welfare-oriented Constitution, India would have already become a self-reliant and developed nation, providing a life of equality and justice to millions of Bahujans. If this has not happened, then why? The journey of ‘social change and economic liberation’ initiated by Baba Saheb will continue to advance towards its destination, achieving electoral success.”
On this occasion, BSP state president Vishwanath Pal extended heartfelt wishes to all citizens and those residing in other states. He mentioned that a grand celebration of the birth anniversary would take place at the Dr. Ambedkar Social Change Site in Gomti Nagar, where a large number of people are expected to gather. Following the directives of Mayawati, the BSP commemorates Baba Saheb’s birth anniversary every year, while other parties merely engage in theatrics.
