Patna, April 14: Bihar is poised to announce its new Chief Minister on Tuesday. For the first time, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to appoint a Chief Minister in the state. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been dispatched as an observer to oversee the process. An announcement regarding the new Chief Minister is expected following a meeting of the BJP legislative party at 2 PM.
BJP legislator Maithili Thakur commented on the upcoming announcement, stating, “Today, everything will become clear. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is widely recognized as a development leader. The freedom we enjoy in Bihar today is largely due to his efforts.”
She added, “The public knows Nitish Kumar as the ‘Vikas Purush’ (Development Man) of Bihar. His initiatives have led to significant development, allowing us to live comfortably and freely in this state. The positive changes and the vision of a ‘better Bihar’ we see today can be attributed to his hard work.”
When asked about who might succeed Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister, Thakur expressed optimism, saying, “Whoever becomes Chief Minister will be acceptable to all of us. We are eager to see who the next leader will be. Whatever is decided will be clearly communicated to everyone. Currently, everyone is in Bihar and will remain in Patna for the next two days to participate in this process.”
Thakur emphasized, “Every person in Bihar recognizes the Chief Minister as the ‘Vikas Purush.’ In many ways, Nitish Kumar has effectively driven the state’s development. If we are able to live freely in Bihar today, it is thanks to him.”
It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is expected to chair his current government’s final cabinet meeting at 11:00 AM. Following this, around 3:15 PM, he will visit the Raj Bhavan to submit his resignation to the Governor. With this resignation, the BJP will make history by appointing its first-ever leader as Chief Minister in Bihar.
