New Delhi, April 14: On the occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale extended his greetings to the nation. He emphasized that without Babasaheb, the struggle for Dalits would not have been possible. He credited Ambedkar for strengthening the nation through the Constitution.
Athawale paid tribute at the statue of Babasaheb in the Parliament complex. Speaking to reporters, he stated, “Today marks the 135th birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar. It serves as a day of inspiration for us. Ambedkar Jayanti is being celebrated across every corner of India.”
He added, “If Babasaheb had not existed, we cannot imagine the plight of Dalits today. The struggle for Dalits would have been impossible without him. Babasaheb drafted the Constitution, which empowered the nation. It is our collective responsibility to fulfill Babasaheb’s dream. One day, his vision will be realized. Equality will prevail, the caste system will be abolished, and the country will progress robustly.”
On this occasion, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Chairperson of the National Commission for Backward Classes, expressed her reverence for Babasaheb, stating, “I bow to Baba Saheb, who provided India with a new direction post-independence and established a Constitution that allows marginalized communities to gain political representation and social respect. I wish all citizens a happy Ambedkar Jayanti.”
She further urged citizens to follow the path laid out by Babasaheb to achieve their goals, noting, “I see that even villagers are courageously contributing to the nation’s development.”
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari remarked that today is the birth anniversary of Babasaheb, who showed the world the path to equality and harmony. On this occasion, the Vice President, Lok Sabha Speaker, and Prime Minister paid their respects. Tiwari stated, “Not only India but the entire world owes its path to equality and harmony to Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, who fought for the rights of the oppressed and marginalized.”
