Married Woman Alleges Rape and Blackmail in Nagpur; Two Arrested, Third Suspect at Large

Nagpur, June 16: A married woman in Nagpur, Maharashtra, has accused two men of rape, blackmail, and coercion for forced religious conversion. The police have arrested two suspects, while efforts are ongoing to locate a third individual involved in the case. An FIR was filed, prompting an immediate investigation by local authorities.

In her complaint, the woman alleged that she was drugged and raped. Additionally, a video of the incident was recorded and later used to blackmail her. She also claimed that she was pressured to convert her religion.

DCP Rishikesh Reddy of Nagpur Police provided details about the case in an interview with a news agency. He confirmed that an FIR was registered on Friday based on the victim’s complaint, which includes serious allegations of sexual assault, extortion, and forced conversion. The police have arrested the two main suspects and are conducting a thorough investigation.

Reddy mentioned that the victim’s mobile phone has been seized for evidence, and all related facts are being meticulously examined. He emphasized that the police are verifying all aspects and evidence to ensure the truth is fully uncovered.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim and the accused were previously acquainted. The woman is reportedly involved in property dealings. The FIR lists three suspects, two of whom are in custody, while the third remains at large. Police teams are actively working to apprehend him, and further clarity on the case is expected within the next 10 to 15 days.
