Born on August 3, 1981, Manish has carved a niche for himself with his remarkable sense of humor, unique style, and commanding stage presence. Today, he captivates audiences across TV, films, and OTT platforms. Whether it’s a Bollywood award show or any major event, Manish Paul continues to anchor with his distinctive flair.
Manish Paul was born into a Punjabi family in New Delhi. He completed his schooling at Apeejay School and later earned a BA in Tourism from the College of Vocational Studies at Delhi University.
He began his career as a host in Delhi, initially anchoring cultural programs in schools and colleges. Soon after, he moved to Mumbai in search of opportunities. In 2002, he got his big break hosting “Sunday Tango” on Star Plus. Manish also worked as a VJ for Zee Music and served as a radio jockey for Radio City’s morning drive-time show, “Kasa Kaya Mumbai.”
Manish has appeared in various TV serials, including “Radha Ki Betiyan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi,” “Zindadil,” “Shh… Phir Koi Hai,” “Love Guru,” “Wheel Ghar Ghar Mein,” “Kahani Shuru Huyi,” and “Kuch Cook Hota Hai.” However, he did not gain significant recognition from these shows.
His career took a significant turn when he began hosting reality shows. He brought life to “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Chhote Ustaad,” “Dance India Dance Little Masters,” “Nach Baliye,” “Star Ya Rockstar,” and multiple seasons of “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa” with his unique comic timing and energy. He has also hosted “Science of Stupid” on National Geographic.
In addition to television, Manish ventured into films. He made his appearance in “Tees Maar Khan” in 2010 and played his first lead role in “Mickey Virus” in 2013. He later starred in “Tere Bin Laden-2” and portrayed Gurpreet in “Jug Jugg Jeeyo,” which was well-received by audiences. In 2023, he took on a lead role in the web series “Rafuchakkar.”
Manish Paul married Sujata Paul in 2007, who hails from a Bengali background. They met in school and began dating in late 1998. Their families soon became acquainted, leading to their marriage. They have a daughter born in 2011 and a son born in 2016. Manish won the Best Anchor award in 2011 for “Dance India Dance Little Masters.”
