Mumbai, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : The Maharashtra government has recently honored renowned screenwriter Salim Khan with the prestigious Raj Kapoor Lifetime Achievement Award. His second wife, actress Helen, expressed gratitude on his behalf upon receiving the award.
Speaking to the media after accepting the honor, Helen described the moment as special for Salim Khan, who has made an incredible impact on Hindi cinema.
When asked about Salim’s reaction to the award, Helen revealed that he thanked everyone who has shown him love and support throughout his career.
“I am grateful for this award on behalf of Salim,” Helen stated. “All his films are my favorites. He is in great health and is a strong person. He sends his best wishes to everyone in Maharashtra and across India.”
Salim Khan is a prominent screenwriter and actor in Hindi cinema, although he has only taken on minor roles in a few Bollywood films. He initially began his career as an actor but shifted to writing after not achieving significant success in that field.
Helen and Salim first met professionally on the set of the 1963 film “Kabli Khan,” where Helen played the female lead and Salim portrayed the villain. Their friendship blossomed into love over time, despite Salim being married at the time. He was first married to Sushila Charak (now known as Salma Khan) in 1964, with whom he has four children: Salman, Arbaaz, Sohail, and Alvira. Salim married Helen in 1981, a decision that initially upset Salma and their children, but over time, Salma accepted the relationship.
