
Ekta Nagar, September 9 (Daily Kiran) : The 72nd National Film Awards ceremony is set to take place on September 22 in Ekta Nagar, near the iconic Statue of Unity, with President Droupadi Murmu in attendance. This year marks a significant milestone, as it is the first time the event will be held outside New Delhi since its inception in 1954.
To ensure a smooth and grand event, a high-level meeting was convened in Ekta Nagar on Wednesday. The meeting was chaired by Prabhat, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
Key discussions included arrangements according to presidential protocol, accommodations for award winners and distinguished guests, VIP facilities, security measures, transportation logistics, and various other aspects necessary for the event’s success. Following the meeting, officials inspected the designated venue, known as Statue of Unity Bus-2, to review the preparations on-site.
Officials from various departments engaged in detailed discussions regarding the logistics of guest arrivals and departures, protocol adherence, and other essential topics related to the event’s organization.
In attendance were several high-ranking officials, including KK Nirala, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Ajay Nagabhushan from the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), Narmada District Collector Ganga Singh, CEO of the Statue of Unity Amit Arora, and District Superintendent of Police Vishakha Dabral, among others.
The preparations reflect the commitment to hosting a memorable and prestigious celebration of Indian cinema.
