Major Terror Network Linked to Pakistan Uncovered in New Delhi, Seven Arrested

New Delhi, June 16: The Special Cell of the Delhi Police has dismantled a Pakistan-supported terrorist and criminal network operating in the capital, resulting in the arrest of seven individuals.

According to police reports, the suspects were acting under the direction of Pakistan-based leader Shahzad Bhatti and his associate Ajmal Gurjar. This gang was involved in smuggling illegal weapons, ammunition, and narcotics from Pakistan through Punjab, supplying them to the Delhi-NCR region.

Authorities have seized five pistols, 41 live cartridges, seven mobile phones, and a Scorpio SUV. The gang reportedly utilized social media platforms to recruit young individuals into their network.

It is alleged that new recruits were lured by the promise of quick money and the allure of the criminal underworld, pushing them into the trafficking of weapons and drugs. In May 2026, the Special Cell received intelligence that Shahzad Bhatti and Ajmal Gurjar were planning significant criminal and terrorist activities in Delhi-NCR.

Acting on this information, police set a trap and arrested Mohit, also known as Yogi. He was found in possession of illegal weapons and evidence linking him to handlers based in Pakistan.

During the interrogation, police discovered that network members were scouting several key locations in Delhi, Ghaziabad, and surrounding areas. Further investigation revealed that the suspects were collecting consignments of weapons and narcotics dropped in Punjab via drones from Pakistan to transport them to Delhi-NCR.

Many members of this gang have criminal records, including charges of murder, attempted murder, robbery, the Arms Act, and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

The Delhi Police are now on the lookout for the gang’s absconding members, arms suppliers, and individuals involved in financing this operation.
