New Delhi, August 28: A significant step towards improved connectivity has been taken in Garhwal. Thanks to the efforts of BJP MP Anil Baluni, approval has been granted for the installation of 13 new mobile towers in remote and border areas of the Garhwal Lok Sabha constituency to enhance mobile network and internet connectivity.
Following this approval, MP Anil Baluni met with Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to express his gratitude. He shared the details of their meeting on the social media platform X.
In his post, Baluni stated, “Another important initiative towards better connectivity in Garhwal. I met with Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to thank him for the approval of 13 new mobile towers to improve mobile network and internet connectivity in the remote and border areas of the Garhwal Lok Sabha constituency.”
Baluni informed the minister about the geographical challenges faced by Garhwal. He noted that much of the region is mountainous and difficult to access, leading to ongoing challenges in mobile network and internet connectivity in several areas.
In this context, he urged the Union Minister to consider the region’s needs and install new mobile towers at 92 additional locations in Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pauri, and Tehri Garhwal.
According to Baluni, Minister Scindia responded positively to the request and assured necessary action would be taken.
Baluni emphasized, “Our efforts for the development and expansion of public facilities in Garhwal will continue without interruption.”
It is noteworthy that the Garhwal Lok Sabha constituency is one of the largest and most geographically challenging areas in Uttarakhand. Many villages here are still located in border and high-altitude regions, where mobile connectivity remains a significant issue.
The installation of new towers will not only provide better communication facilities for local residents but will also aid in relief efforts during disasters. This will facilitate easier access to digital services related to education, health, and employment for the community.
