Kolkata, September 18 (Daily Kiran) : The West Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a series of new appointments aimed at bolstering its organizational framework. Samik Bhattacharya, the state president and Member of Parliament, has given his approval for these changes, which will take effect immediately. An official letter detailing the appointments was issued by Shashi Agnihotri, the state general secretary and office in-charge.
Among the key appointments, retired Major Ritvik Paul has been designated as the head of social media and state spokesperson. Paul has previously been active in media and digital outreach for the party, and his role is seen as crucial in strengthening the party’s social media strategy.
Additionally, three individuals have been named as conveners for the party’s various cells. Manas Bhattacharya will serve as the convener of the cell, bringing his experience as a current member of the state executive. Mohan Adak and Chandrakanta Das have been appointed as co-conveners. Das also holds the position of district in-charge for Nadia South.
Sources within the party indicate that these appointments are part of a broader effort to fortify the organization’s presence at the booth level. The BJP plans to activate all fronts and cells in West Bengal, aiming to unify various professional groups such as teachers, doctors, lawyers, and cultural organizations through these cells.
The announcement has been communicated to several key figures in the party, including state in-charge Sunil Bansal, co-in-charge Mangal Pandey, and organizational secretary Amitabh Chakraborty.
Under Samik Bhattacharya’s leadership, the party has been undergoing continuous changes, with the belief that a combination of new faces and experienced workers will inject fresh energy into the BJP’s efforts in Bengal.
