Beijing, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : The three-day China Aviation Transport Association (CATA) conference is currently underway in Beijing. According to the “China Aviation Transport Development (2026)” report released at the event, the scale of China’s aviation logistics is consistently setting new records, reflecting a stable and positive growth trajectory in the industry.
In 2025, the aviation logistics sector achieved a significant milestone. For the first time, the transport of goods and mail via civil aviation in China surpassed 10 million tons, reaching a total of 10.172 million tons. This marks an increase of 13.3 percent compared to the previous year.
International routes accounted for the transport of 4.425 million tons of goods and mail, representing a year-on-year growth of 22.1 percent. International transport contributed to over 40 percent of the total cargo volume.
During this period, 252 new cargo routes were launched across the country, including 214 international routes. The number of dedicated cargo aircraft in China has increased to 272, with wide-body aircraft making up 22 percent of the total.
Experts note that aviation logistics is a crucial support mechanism for foreign trade and the global supply chain. The sector is currently moving beyond mere expansion in scale to focus on enhancing quality and efficiency. In terms of cargo composition, the demand for timely delivery and high-value goods is expected to gradually increase in the future.
A relevant official from the Civil Aviation Authority stated that the current trend towards smart logistics has become a vital avenue for high-quality development in the industry. In the next phase, the authority will continue to advance structural reforms on the supply side and promote the digital and intelligent transformation of aviation logistics.
