Kolkata, September 18 (Daily Kiran) : Former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee spoke out against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on September 18, asserting that the party is a “fake” entity intent on dismantling democracy, the Constitution, and the education system. Speaking to reporters in Kolkata, she claimed that the BJP employs artificial intelligence to further its agenda, a concerning trend she believes has been evident even before elections.
Banerjee highlighted the BJP’s alleged history of corruption in states like Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, and Bengal. She expressed her dismay at the party’s tactics, which she argues stifle dissent. “If anyone speaks against them, they are arrested or blocked on social media,” she stated, emphasizing the threat posed to journalists under the current regime.
The former chief minister also raised questions about the integrity of the electoral process, pointing to incidents such as the burning of 4,000 electronic voting machines in Bengal, which she believes have gone uninvestigated. “Why is there no inquiry into this?” she asked.
In a show of solidarity, Banerjee announced her support for Congress in the upcoming by-elections in Nandigram and Assam, stating that this decision is made in the broader interest of the nation. This announcement comes as her faction of the Trinamool Congress faces a setback, with candidate Sanchita Pradhan Day withdrawing her nomination just days before the polls.
Tensions surrounding the by-elections are palpable, as Banerjee continues to challenge the BJP’s influence and practices in the political landscape.
