Nairobi, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : Adarsh Swain, the Indian High Commissioner to Kenya, met with the country’s Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary, Korir Sing’oei, on Saturday to discuss the potential outcomes of upcoming high-level exchanges. The meeting took place in Nairobi and focused on key aspects of bilateral relations.
The Indian High Commission shared details of the meeting on the social media platform X, highlighting the review of ongoing initiatives and the importance of enhancing bilateral trade and investment ties. Swain emphasized the need for a business-friendly environment to attract investors.
Last month, High Commissioner Swain also met with Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia W. Mudavadi, updating him on recent bilateral developments. The Indian High Commission noted that Swain discussed proposals and ideas aimed at strengthening the partnership.
In August, Moses Wetangula, Speaker of Kenya’s National Assembly, visited India to bolster parliamentary exchanges between the two nations, which included a newly formed parliamentary friendship group. Wetangula met with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, reaffirming the long-standing friendship and robust legislative interactions between India and Kenya.
Speaker Birla remarked that the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the enduring friendship rooted in shared democratic values and historical ties. He pointed out that the recently established parliamentary friendship groups will serve as a crucial platform for deepening parliamentary engagement and enhancing mutual understanding between the two legislatures.
According to Birla, sharing legislative experiences and best practices can further strengthen institutional cooperation.
