New Delhi, September 1: Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever will embark on an official visit to India from September 2 to 4, 2026. This marks his first trip to India since taking office in February last year. During his visit, PM De Wever will engage in bilateral discussions with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, PM De Wever will arrive in Delhi at 7:30 PM on September 2, 2026, landing at AFS Palam. The following day, September 3, he will pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat at 11:10 AM.
Subsequently, he will hold a bilateral meeting with PM Modi at Hyderabad House at 11:30 AM. The meeting will cover various aspects of bilateral relations, along with regional and global issues of mutual interest.
At 12:55 PM, the two leaders will exchange several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) at Hyderabad House, after which they will issue a joint press statement. Later, at 4:30 PM, PM De Wever will participate in a CII event at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
On September 4, he will depart from Delhi to Mumbai at 9:30 AM, where a series of scheduled events await him. After completing his engagements in Mumbai, he will leave India at 11:00 PM.
Accompanying PM De Wever on this visit will be Belgium’s Minister of Defence, Theo Francken. The Ministry of External Affairs stated, “This visit will strengthen the India-Belgium partnership and enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including trade and investment, defense and security, technology, renewable energy, connectivity, and people-to-people relations, while also deepening India-EU and India-Europe ties.”
