Srinagar, August 1: The Samba police in Jammu and Kashmir successfully resolved a motorcycle theft case on Saturday. They arrested the thief and recovered the stolen motorcycle.
The police action was initiated based on a complaint filed by Lak Singh, a resident of Kaulpur in Vijaypur, on July 21. Singh reported that his motorcycle was stolen by an unknown person while parked outside the District Court Complex in Samba.
Following the complaint, an FIR was registered at Samba police station under number 217/2026, Section 303(2) BNS, and an investigation commenced. During the inquiry, a team from Samba police utilized technical assistance and human intelligence to apprehend a suspect.
The suspect was identified as Mohammad Akram, originally from Gundoh (Bhargi) in Doda district, currently residing in Teli Basti, Samba district. After intense questioning, he confessed to his involvement in the theft. Based on his information, the police recovered the stolen motorcycle from him. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
In a related incident, another police action against theft occurred in Uttar Pradesh on the same day. The Sector-20 police in Noida busted an active gang involved in two-wheeler thefts, arresting six notorious criminals. The police seized 15 stolen two-wheelers, ₹2,200 in cash obtained from selling stolen mobile phones, and four knives.
According to the police, the Sector-20 team acted on manual intelligence and confidential information, conducting a raid on the service road in Sector-27, Noida. The arrested individuals were identified as Rajiv Chauhan, Ajay Kumar, Sachin Kumar, Krishna Shera, Vijay Kumar, and Brijesh Kumar. Some of the suspects hailed from Delhi, Ghaziabad, Farrukhabad, Karauli, and Banda, while currently residing in various areas of Noida and Delhi.
