Dehradun, September 13 (Daily Kiran) : Bad weather forced an Air India flight from Mumbai to Dehradun to be diverted to Lucknow on Sunday. The flight, designated AI431, was unable to land in Dehradun as scheduled due to poor visibility conditions.
Reports indicate that the adverse weather in Dehradun made landing impossible. Following instructions from air traffic control, the aircraft was redirected to Lucknow.
The flight safely landed at Lucknow Airport at 4:45 PM. Once weather conditions improved in Dehradun, the flight was cleared to continue its journey. According to Air India’s website, the aircraft departed from Lucknow for Dehradun around 6 PM.
Earlier on the same day, another Air India flight, AI1886, traveling from Bhopal to Delhi, was diverted to Jaipur due to a technical issue. The airline stated that this decision was made in accordance with safety protocols. The aircraft landed safely in Jaipur, where it is undergoing a technical inspection.
In a separate incident, Air India reported the death of a pilot due to cardiac arrest while on layover in Delhi. The pilot, who had previously worked for Air India Express, was found unconscious at a hotel on Friday evening and was later pronounced dead at a hospital. He was scheduled to operate a flight on Saturday morning.
This incident follows an earlier occurrence in August when an Air India Express flight returning from Abu Dhabi to Kochi had to turn back due to a technical malfunction.
