Maharashtra Minister Advocates for Devendra Fadnavis as National Leader

Mumbai, July 15: Maharashtra’s Agriculture Minister Dattatray Bharne publicly expressed his desire to see Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis take on a national leadership role in the future. Speaking at a felicitation ceremony organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kisan Morcha in Mumbai, Bharne highlighted the significance of the occasion, coinciding with the auspicious day of Ashadhi Ekadashi, and pointed towards greater responsibilities for the senior leader.

While addressing the gathering, the Agriculture Minister praised the Chief Minister’s contributions and emphasized the need for Maharashtra to gain recognition on a national level. He stated that it is crucial for capable leaders to remain in Maharashtra, but they must not act selfishly.

Bharne remarked that Maharashtra is currently somewhat distanced from the power center in Delhi. He expressed his heartfelt wish that during the upcoming Ashadhi Ekadashi, he would pray to Lord Pandurang (Vithal) for ‘Deva Bhau’ (Devendra Fadnavis) to have the opportunity to lead the country at the right time.

The event was held in honor of Chief Minister Fadnavis following the announcement of the ‘Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Farmer Loan Waiver Scheme.’ Bharne urged coalition workers to ensure that the details of this significant policy reach the genuine beneficiaries.

Highlighting the scope of the relief package, Bharne noted that the recent loan waiver scheme would directly benefit over 5.6 million farmers across Maharashtra. The government is providing approximately ₹25,000 crore annually to support agricultural pump sets of up to 7.5 horsepower.

Reflecting on the severe crop losses caused by unseasonal rains and floods last year, Bharne commended both Chief Minister Fadnavis and NCP leader Ajit Pawar for their prompt actions on the ground.

He further stated that running a government requires extensive financial planning, noting that while discussing policies is easy, implementing them is a challenging task. Despite the absence of elections, leaders like Devendra Fadnavis, Sunetra Pawar, and Eknath Shinde have steadfastly supported farmers in revitalizing their lives. He encouraged the Mahayuti coalition workers to actively promote the state government’s welfare schemes ahead of the upcoming political season.
