Hyderabad, July 15: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revant Reddy stated on Wednesday that his government is adopting the best policies from previous administrations to attract more investment to the state.
The Chief Minister noted that his administration is building upon the policies of former Chief Ministers N. Chandrababu Naidu (1994–2004) and Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy (2004–2014), as well as the BRS government’s initiatives from 2014 to December 2023.
He made these remarks during the inauguration ceremony of Amara Raja’s EV cell manufacturing facility in the Amara Raja Giga Corridor located in Mahbubnagar district.
Reddy emphasized that his government is embracing effective policies and practices from the past to avoid a state of ‘policy paralysis.’ Under the ‘Telangana Rising 2047’ initiative, several policies have been launched to primarily promote industries, tourism, and health sectors.
He mentioned that the state government is improving infrastructure to attract more investment. A robust infrastructure is essential for establishing industries, and the government is moving forward with transparent policies.
The Chief Minister highlighted that Telangana currently contributes 5 percent to the national GDP, which he finds unsatisfactory. His goal is to increase Telangana’s share to 10 percent and transform the state into a one trillion dollar economy by 2034, aiming for a three trillion dollar economy by 2047.
Revant Reddy assured that he would soon share good news with the people of Mahbubnagar district. He revealed that discussions are already underway regarding the allocation of 90 TMC of water for the Palamuru-Rangareddy lift irrigation scheme and 30 TMC for the Dindi project.
The Chief Minister stressed that farmers who have provided land to Amara Raja should be offered jobs in the new EV cell manufacturing unit. He commended Amara Raja for drawing inspiration from China, Japan, Germany, and Korea.
He expressed pride in Amara Raja’s ability to compete with China in the EV sector. The unit currently employs 700 workers, including 400 women, showcasing an example of women’s empowerment.
Reddy also pointed out that the impact of El Niño is causing reduced rainfall, which is troubling for farmers. He noted significant climate changes since the COVID-19 pandemic and emphasized the need to reduce pollution, stating that electric vehicles are crucial for pollution control.
