Bhopal, August 15: On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav assured the people of Madhya Pradesh that the state government’s commitment is towards the welfare of all, encapsulated in the mission ‘Gyan’.
During the state-level ceremony held at Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal, Chief Minister Yadav hoisted the national flag. The event began with the singing of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’, followed by the national anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana’. After the flag hoisting, the Chief Minister inspected the parade and received a salute. Armed forces performed celebratory gunfire, while the police band filled the atmosphere with patriotic tunes.
In his address, Chief Minister Yadav emphasized that the state government is working for the welfare of all sections of society. He highlighted Prime Minister Modi‘s mantra of ‘Gyan’, which focuses on the poor, youth, women, and farmers, and stated that it has been expanded to include industry and infrastructure under the ‘Gyan’ initiative.
He remarked that this Independence Day is particularly memorable as the national song ‘Vande Mataram’ was sung. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has achieved many historic milestones aimed at making the country modern, developed, self-reliant, secure, prosperous, and glorious. Today, India is recognized among the leading nations of the world.
Yadav noted that India is a land of equality, harmony, and fairness. From Lord Ram to Lord Krishna and from saints to great personalities, all have conveyed the message of equality. In line with this spirit, Madhya Pradesh is implementing the Uniform Civil Code, ensuring that everyone is governed by the same laws. This initiative aims to eliminate discriminatory practices and empower women. The state will celebrate the 650th birth anniversary of Saint Guru Ravidas from August 18, 2026.
He stated that trust in the public system is the first step towards good governance. If public welfare is achievable, then public trust and dialogue are essential tools. With this goal, the government launched the ‘Chief Minister Public Trust Campaign’ on August 7, 2026. The campaign aims for ‘no delay, no distance’ and will run until January 8, 2027. The government has presented a budget of ₹4.38 lakh crore for the financial year 2026-27, which is a 10% increase from the previous year. The per capita income in the state has seen a 9% rise compared to last year.
The Chief Minister expressed that farmers’ fields are sacred to the government, and every grain harvested is akin to a blessing. The year 2026 is being celebrated as the Year of Farmer Welfare, with the Balram Agricultural Festival being organized in all districts to honor farmers’ hard work and dedication. For the first time in the state’s history, the government has decided to provide four times the compensation for acquiring agricultural land for government schemes. A new ‘Kavach’ scheme has been initiated to provide economic security to farmers. He also encouraged youth to explore better opportunities in agriculture.
Yadav stated that the state government is committed to making Madhya Pradesh the milk capital of the country. Daily milk collection in the state has reached approximately 1.2 million liters. Dairy producers are earning over ₹8 per liter. Inspired by Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to women’s empowerment, the state is promoting the Lakhsathi Gaopalak Didi scheme, enabling women to become financially independent through livestock management.
He announced that the state government had previously declared 2025 as the Year of Investment and Employment, and 2026 as the Year of Farmer Welfare. Now, 2027 will be celebrated as the Year of Youth. A comprehensive strategy for youth development has been developed, focusing on quality education, skill development, entrepreneurship, job opportunities in both public and private sectors, support for startups, and promoting arts, culture, research, and leadership skills.
Chief Minister Yadav mentioned that over 85,000 youths have been appointed to government services, with plans to provide job opportunities for over 100,000 youths annually in the public sector. In the coming year, more than 100,000 youths will receive skill training in ITIs, and 10,000 youths will be trained in Global Skill Parks each year. A dedicated placement cell for skill development will be established in Madhya Pradesh to connect industries with the government.
He noted that over 334,000 manufacturing units have been registered on the enterprise portal in the past two and a half years, providing direct and indirect employment opportunities for 3.38 million youths. Additionally, over 50,000 youths have been employed in large industrial units. The Chief Minister affirmed the state government’s vision to establish an MSME park in every district and develop 10 MSME clusters in the state. A new center for the engineering sector is being established in Bhopal at a cost of ₹30 crore.
