
New Delhi, August 15: On the occasion of India’s 80th Independence Day, Indian embassies across various countries held flag-hoisting ceremonies. Diplomats from several nations extended their greetings to the people of India.
The Israeli ambassador in India shared on X, “Today we celebrate India’s Independence Day. Though India and Israel differ in size, our ancient heritage and national rejuvenation are similar. We take pride in the friendship between Israel and India and will continue to strengthen our partnership. Happy Independence Day!”
In Beijing, the Indian embassy commemorated the 80th Independence Day with a dignified ceremony. Members of the Indian community and friends of India attended in large numbers despite the rain. Ambassador Vikram Doraiswami hoisted the national flag and read excerpts from the President’s address to the nation.
The Indian ambassador in China posted on X, “As dawn breaks, our flag is hoisted on our shores. The responsibility of carrying forward this historic journey of the tricolor now lies with the Indian embassy in Jakarta. Let us inspire Indians to spread the spirit of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ from one sunrise to the next.”
In Hungary, the Indian ambassador also celebrated Independence Day. He posted on X, “Celebrating the tricolor, ‘Har Ghar Tiranga.’ The Indian embassy in Budapest participated in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, honoring the spirit of unity, pride, and patriotism associated with our national flag.”
The Indian embassy in Indonesia marked Independence Day as well. They wrote on X, “As dawn breaks, our flag will be hoisted from our shores. The responsibility of carrying forward this historic journey of the tricolor now lies with the Indian embassy in Hanoi, inspiring Indians to spread the spirit of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’.”
The Ukrainian ambassador in India posted on X, “On this Independence Day, heartfelt wishes to the people and government of India. We wish for India’s continued prosperity, progress, and success!”
Robert Maxian, the Slovak ambassador in India, shared on X, “India is celebrating its 80th Independence Day. I extend my heartfelt wishes for prosperity, peace, and good fortune to all. Vande Mataram.”
