
New Delhi, August 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to philosopher and freedom fighter Aurobindo on his birth anniversary this Saturday. He remarked that Aurobindo dedicated his life to India’s independence and human progress as a great philosopher, nationalist, poet, and thinker.
The Prime Minister noted that Aurobindo’s works across various subjects continue to inspire generations worldwide. He emphasized that Aurobindo’s belief in the limitless potential for the future of our country and human transformation remains highly relevant today.
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, PM Modi wrote, “Remembering Sri Aurobindo on his birth anniversary. As a great philosopher, nationalist, poet, and thinker, Sri Aurobindo dedicated his life to the significant endeavor of India’s freedom and human progress. His works across different subjects continue to inspire generations around the world. Most importantly, his faith in the limitless possibilities for our country’s future and human change is still very relevant today.”
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah also paid his respects, stating, “On the birth anniversary of our sage, philosopher, and great soul Sri Aurobindo, I offer my humble tribute. Sri Aurobindo introduced India to its spiritual greatness and infused new energy into our freedom movement to overthrow oppressive colonial rule. His profound knowledge inspires us to progress while cherishing our glorious heritage.”
Union Health Minister JP Nadda added, “On the birth anniversary of the great yogi, philosopher, and nationalist Maharishi Aurobindo Ghosh, I bow to him countless times. Aurobindo ignited the spirit of boycotting foreign goods through his writings and ideas. His significant contribution in igniting the flame of revolution among the countrymen during the freedom struggle is commendable. His great teachings continue to inspire humanity’s upliftment and national pride.”
