Tragic Electrocution Claims Lives of Father and Son in Banda

Banda, July 24: A heartbreaking incident occurred in Banda, Uttar Pradesh, where a father and son lost their lives due to electrocution, and the mother sustained injuries while attempting to save them. Police arrived at the scene, recovered the bodies, and sent them for post-mortem while the injured mother was admitted to the hospital.

The incident took place in the Kalu Kuan area of the city. Baboolal (60) lived with his wife and worked as a guard at a nearby marriage hall. On Thursday evening, their son Dheeru (30) returned home from work and, after bathing, began to pick up clothes that were hanging on a wire in their home.

During this time, he came into contact with an electric current. Upon seeing his son in distress, Baboolal rushed to help, but both were electrocuted. The mother, witnessing the scene, also attempted to intervene but fell victim to the current herself. Neighbors quickly notified the police.

The police arrived promptly and transported Baboolal and Dheeru to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead. The injured mother is currently receiving treatment. Authorities have informed the family, and the bodies have been sent to the mortuary for post-mortem.

ASP Mavis Tak stated that two family members were electrocuted. Upon receiving the report, the police reached the site and took them to the hospital, where they were declared dead. Post-mortem and legal proceedings are underway, and further investigations are ongoing.

Local residents have alleged that the incident was caused by electric current flowing through the wire used for hanging clothes, which was affected during the shifting of poles and lights by the PWD and electricity department. The widespread exposure of wires has led to the current spreading due to recent rains.
