Bhopal, September 29 (Daily Kiran) : The Madhya Pradesh government has announced a financial aid of ₹600 for school uniforms to 5.8 million students enrolled in government schools from classes 1 to 8. This decision was made during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday. Cabinet Minister Chaitanya Kashyap shared that the state will directly transfer a total of ₹348 crores to the students’ bank accounts for this purpose.
In addition to the uniform funding, the cabinet approved proposals worth approximately ₹24,500 crores. These include revised and modified proposals related to various ongoing schemes. Kashyap noted that 19 sites from Madhya Pradesh have been included in UNESCO’s tentative list, contributing to the state’s cultural and historical significance. Notable sites include the paintings of the Bhimbetka rock shelters, the Ginnaur Fort, the temples of the Chambal Valley, and the Udayagiri caves.
This initiative is expected to bolster tourism in Madhya Pradesh, which is actively expanding its tourism facilities. The state has also seen an increase in its tiger population, with efforts underway to manage and develop all tiger reserves and wildlife sanctuaries. Tourism not only highlights the state’s heritage and culture on a global stage but also serves as a significant economic driver, creating new job opportunities and fostering local development.
Furthermore, the cabinet made a significant decision regarding the provision of grains to students in hostels and welfare institutions for marginalized communities. Previously, these institutions received 12 kilograms of grain at ₹5 per kilogram. Now, they will also receive grain at ₹1 per kilogram, ensuring better support for students and those in need.
