
Bhopal, May 11: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that the state’s police department has established a distinct identity while ensuring law and order. He declared that the state is now free from Naxalism. Speaking at the KF Rustamji Award ceremony held at Ravindra Bhawan in the capital, CM Yadav noted that crime and criminal methods have evolved in the new era.
The Madhya Pradesh police are effectively addressing digital and cybercrime issues. They are recognized for their courage, discipline, and determination. The police department has carved out a unique identity while maintaining law and order. During the ceremony, CM Mohan Yadav presented the KF Rustamji Awards for the years 2019-20 and 2021-22 in various categories.
CM Mohan Yadav emphasized that police personnel have earned these awards through their courage and efficiency. The KF Rustamji Awards will be presented annually. He recalled how Rustamji led the campaign to eradicate the dacoit problem from the state, and following that legacy, Madhya Pradesh has successfully overcome the issue of Naxalism in the past year. Plans are being systematically developed to tackle organized crime.
He acknowledged that 101 police officers received the KF Rustamji Award. The state government is promoting awards for innovations and excellence within the police department, recognizing the challenges officers face in their duties.
CM Mohan Yadav stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, the country is undergoing significant changes. For 35 years, Naxalism was an incurable issue, and Madhya Pradesh was the first to overcome it. Today, all states in India bid farewell to Naxalism, for which they owe gratitude to the central leadership.
He declared that the fight against Naxalism has been victorious. People were once intimidated through weapons and terrorism, leading to the assassination of a former minister in Madhya Pradesh.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that recruitment in the police department is ongoing. The hiring for 2023 and 2024 has been completed, and new recruitment for 2026 will begin, covering positions from sub-inspectors to constables. The state government has set a target of 22,500 recruitments, with plans to fulfill this goal in the coming year.
