Macron Concludes Three-Day Visit to India, Praises Digital Revolution at AI Summit

New Delhi, February 19: French President Emmanuel Macron has concluded his three-day visit to India. Before departing, he met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Macron participated in the India-AI Impact Summit on Thursday.

During the AI Summit, PM Modi engaged in bilateral discussions with various heads of state and national leaders. His meeting with the French President garnered significant attention.

From February 17 to 19, Macron’s official visit included discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation across various sectors under the ‘Horizon 2047 Roadmap.’ They also addressed mutual benefits concerning regional and global issues, including Indo-Pacific cooperation. The two leaders jointly inaugurated the ‘India-France Year of Innovation 2026’ in Mumbai.

Macron’s visit follows PM Modi‘s trip to France in February 2025. These visits reflect the mutual trust and depth of the strategic partnership between the two nations.

Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh, bid farewell to President Macron at Delhi Airport on Thursday evening. Singh stated, “During his successful visit, our relationship has evolved into a Special Global Strategic Partnership. This will further enhance our cooperation in defense, critical minerals, advanced technology, climate action, health, education, and economic security. His participation in the AI Impact Summit and practical engagement has significantly accelerated India-France collaboration on new technologies, innovation, and the responsible use of AI.”

According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the visit has expanded the multifaceted relations between the two countries, covering over 20 agreements, from the progress of ‘Horizon 2047’ to the use of human-centered AI and inclusive development for a sustainable future.
