Two Arrested in Gang Rape Case Involving Two Young Women in Gumla

Gumla, April 6: A shocking incident of gang rape has emerged in the Gumla district of Jharkhand, where two young women were assaulted. The police acted swiftly, arresting two main suspects, while efforts are ongoing to locate a third individual involved in the crime.

According to reports, one of the victims was lured to Gumla by her boyfriend under the pretense of a casual outing. She arrived with a friend, only to find her boyfriend had invited another accomplice. The two men then took the girls to a secluded area in the Sisai police station jurisdiction. As night fell, the assailants forced the women to consume beer before committing the assault.

During the ordeal, one girl managed to escape and hid in a nearby field, using her mobile phone to inform her family of her location and the incident. Meanwhile, the other victim remained trapped with the attackers.

It is reported that the assailants later summoned another accomplice, and together, they gang-raped the second young woman. Eventually, both women managed to flee and reached the local police station late Sunday night to report the incident.

Recognizing the severity of the situation, the police launched immediate raids, resulting in the arrest of two suspects. One of the arrested individuals is from Dumardih Panchayat, while the other hails from Asani Naktitoli.

Gumla police have identified the third suspect involved in the crime and are conducting searches at potential hideouts for his arrest. The victims have undergone medical examinations, and legal proceedings are underway.
