Legal Notice Issued to Mamata Banerjee and TMC Leaders by Kakoli Ghoshs Son

Kolkata, June 13: Dr. Baidyanath Ghosh Dastidar, son of Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Dr. Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, has sent a legal notice to former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, MPs Sougata Roy, Kalyan Banerjee, Mahua Moitra, and former MLA Sonali Guha. He accuses these leaders of making false and defamatory statements about him, which he claims have harmed his reputation.

In a press statement, Dr. Baidyanath clarified that he has never sought a legislative ticket from the Barasat assembly constituency. He emphasized that claims suggesting he requested a ticket from TMC to contest elections are entirely false and misleading.

He also refuted allegations made by Sonali Guha, which state that he, his brother, and his mother, Dr. Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, regularly consume alcohol. He described these accusations as baseless and untrue, asserting they aim to tarnish his personal and professional image.

Dr. Baidyanath revealed that his lawyer, Pooja Shukla, has prepared a legal notice addressed to Mamata Banerjee, Sougata Roy, Kalyan Banerjee, Mahua Moitra, and Sonali Guha, which he has signed and will be sent on Monday.

The legal notice demands that the concerned leaders retract their alleged false and defamatory statements, publicly deny them, and issue an apology. It also states that if a satisfactory response is not received within 15 days, Dr. Baidyanath will pursue all legal remedies available, including defamation, to protect his honor.

In the press statement, Dr. Baidyanath reiterated that he has never expressed a desire for a political ticket from the Barasat assembly area and that the claims being circulated about him are not based on facts. He stated he is prepared to take legal action to defend his reputation.
