Leaders Pay Tribute to Veer Savarkar on His Birth Anniversary

New Delhi, May 28: On the occasion of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar‘s birth anniversary, numerous leaders across the country paid tribute to him, recalling his dedication to the nation, sacrifice, and courage.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah took to social media platform X to express that the freedom fighter dedicated his entire life to serving the motherland. He emphasized that Savarkar’s life and writings exemplify unwavering commitment to the country and its ideology. Shah noted that Savarkar’s struggle against social evils, particularly untouchability, was unifying for society.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma described Savarkar as a symbol of ‘integral nationalism, indomitable courage, and unparalleled sacrifice,’ stating that his fight for the motherland’s freedom and his brilliant thoughts will continue to inspire future generations.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh remarked that Savarkar was not only a great freedom fighter but also a powerful orator, poet, and philosopher. He acknowledged that Savarkar endured numerous hardships while dedicating himself completely to India’s independence.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav referred to Savarkar as a fervent nationalist thinker, asserting that merely remembering his name evokes feelings of patriotism and self-respect. He noted that despite enduring unbearable torture, Savarkar never allowed the flame of freedom to extinguish.

Meanwhile, Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary stated that Savarkar’s sacrifice, struggle, and dedication to national interest will always inspire citizens to serve the nation.

Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar recognized Savarkar as a frontline fighter in the freedom movement, asserting that even the harsh punishment of Kalapani could not weaken his resolve.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami remarked that Savarkar’s life, imbued with patriotism, and his thoughts will continue to inspire service to the country.

Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini stated that despite the severe tortures inflicted by the British, Savarkar’s resolve for an independent India never wavered. Uttar Pradesh BJP President Pankaj Chaudhary highlighted that Savarkar’s writings ignited the flames of revolution, and his thoughts clearly reflected the consciousness of nationalism and Hindutva.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma noted that Savarkar’s life was indeed challenging but extraordinary, emphasizing that he never compromised his thoughts in the face of colonial cruelty. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta praised Savarkar as a prominent nationalist thinker, stating that his life was dedicated to the resolve of ‘Nation First’ and the consciousness of an undivided India.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also paid tribute to Savarkar, recognizing him as a poet, social reformer, and great patriot on his birth anniversary.
