Mumbai, May 11: BJP spokesperson Kishore Joshi emphasized the importance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for restraint in the use of petrol and diesel. He described this message as significant and urged citizens to follow it.
In a conversation with a news agency, Joshi stated, “I believe the Prime Minister has delivered a crucial message to the nation. Only an economically sensitive leader can make such a call. What the Prime Minister said is absolutely correct. If you look at fuel prices in neighboring countries, they have surged significantly. Today, we are managing petrol prices in our country, which are relatively stable. If the citizens heed the Prime Minister’s advice, the nation can overcome this crisis. They should consider it a ‘Modi vow’ and act accordingly.”
In response, Rahul Gandhi posted on X, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the public to make sacrifices on Sunday. Don’t buy gold, don’t travel abroad, use less fuel, take the metro, work from home. These aren’t just suggestions; they are evidence of failure. In 12 years, the country has reached a point where the public needs guidance on what to buy, where to go, and where not to go. Responsibility is constantly shifted onto the public to avoid accountability.”
Reacting to Gandhi’s remarks, Joshi commented, “What can I say about Rahul Gandhi’s political maturity? Where have you all been during this time? This struggle didn’t start 12 years ago; it’s only been about 10 weeks. If we don’t take these steps to address the current situation, what will the future hold?”
Joshi also mentioned, “I’m not sure if Shashi Tharoor is aware, but as far as I know, in the 17 locations where voter names were removed, TMC candidates emerged victorious. This indicates that the SIR process was entirely fair and in the public’s interest. The SIR did not harm any party.”
