Notorious Criminal Chhotu Chaubey Arrested in Jabalpur Under NSA

Jabalpur, June 12: In a significant operation, police in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, have arrested the infamous criminal Chhotu Chaubey, who was wanted with a bounty of ₹20,000. Authorities recovered an illegal pistol and live ammunition from his possession.

Due to his criminal activities and attempts to instill fear in the community, police have taken action against him under the National Security Act (NSA).

Superintendent of Police (SP) Sampat Upadhyay stated that Chaubey is a notorious criminal with a long history of offenses. He has been operating an organized gang for years, involved in serious crimes such as extortion, murder, and illegal arms trade. His name appears in multiple serious cases, and he has been a target for law enforcement agencies for quite some time.

Recently released from prison, Chaubey resumed his criminal activities shortly after his release. Despite numerous complaints against him, many locals hesitated to formally report incidents due to fear of his reputation. Nevertheless, police maintained surveillance on his activities and gathered substantial intelligence.

SP Upadhyay noted that Chaubey’s name surfaced in two recent cases, prompting police to prioritize his capture. Special police teams were deployed to locate him. Based on continuous monitoring and intelligence, the police successfully apprehended him. During the arrest, they seized an illegal pistol and live ammunition, and a detailed investigation is ongoing.
