New Delhi, June 12: In a significant operation, the Central District Police has dismantled an alleged sex racket operating from a building on Qutub Road in the Paharganj area of New Delhi. Four women were rescued during the raid, and one suspect was arrested for running illegal activities.
According to police reports, authorities acted on specific intelligence regarding the racket and conducted a raid on the Sarang Building located on Qutub Road. Following this operation, an FIR was registered under Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (ITPA) on June 12. Additionally, separate legal action has been initiated against the building’s owner under Section 223A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Investigations are ongoing in both cases.
The police stated that on June 11, around 7:30 PM, a tip-off was received by the Station House Officer (SHO) of Nabi Karim Police Station regarding the alleged sex racket being run from a building in Paharganj.
Immediately upon receiving the information, a special police team was formed to verify the claims and take necessary legal action. The raid team included Assistant Constables Harsh and Shruti, Head Constables Sunil Adhana and Vikas, Constables Dhansi and Feru, and Assistant Constable Nishu, all working under the supervision of the SHO of Nabi Karim Police Station.
During the operation, Feru posed as a fake customer to confirm the allegations. Once the information was validated, the police team raided the identified premises and successfully busted the alleged racket.
The arrested suspect has been identified as 29-year-old Shah Rukh, a resident of Laxmi Nagar. Legal action has also been initiated against 58-year-old Harikishan, alias Raju Champion, a Dwarka resident and the owner of the rented premises where the illegal activities were taking place.
During the raid, four women aged 31, 25, 20, and 34 were rescued. The police have kept their identities confidential to protect their privacy.
Investigators have seized relevant evidence and are interrogating the arrested suspects to uncover the extent of the operation and identify other individuals involved. The police are also reviewing the suspects’ previous criminal records.
Authorities have stated that further investigations are underway to expose the entire network, identify all individuals associated with the alleged illegal activities, and establish all pertinent facts related to the case.
