Karnatakas Deputy CM Prioritizes Farmers Rights and State Peace

Tumkur, June 7: Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara stated on Sunday that addressing farmers’ rights and land-related issues will be his top priority. He also highlighted his tenure as Home Minister, emphasizing his success in maintaining law and order in the state.

Parameshwara acknowledged that the revenue department faces numerous challenges, with many issues still unresolved. He commended the previous minister for implementing significant changes, some of which are unprecedented in India. He expressed his commitment to understanding the current situation and ensuring justice for many farmers in the state. He aims to resolve disputes related to land rights and protect the interests of those affected.

Reflecting on his time as Home Minister, Parameshwara noted that maintaining peace in the state was his foremost goal. He asserted that during his tenure, he ensured stability, with no communal riots or disturbances occurring in the last three years. He emphasized that the revenue department would also address issues faced by individuals lacking documentation for their land or property rights.

Additionally, Parameshwara criticized the central government for rising prices of petrol, diesel, and cooking gas. He accused the government of evading responsibility by citing ongoing conflicts in the Middle East as an excuse.

He stated that the government should bear the burden of increasing fuel prices instead of passing it onto consumers, which he deemed inappropriate. Parameshwara noted that the public is beginning to realize that the Indian government is not performing well in financial management. He lamented the unfortunate situation where the government is resorting to price hikes to shield itself from accountability.
