Tumakuru, Karnataka, September 17 (Daily Kiran) : On September 17, leaders from Karnataka, including Union Minister V. Somanna and BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra, celebrated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday. This event also marked 25 years of Modi’s commitment to public service. The leaders participated in various activities aimed at honoring the Prime Minister.
Somanna offered special prayers for Modi’s long life and continued service to the nation at the Sri Subrahmanya Temple in Tumakuru. Following this, he joined a cleanliness drive at the Tumakuru railway station as part of the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ initiative. He actively participated alongside volunteers, showcasing the importance of cleanliness. Schoolchildren welcomed him warmly, showering him with flowers upon his arrival.
Expressing gratitude for the children’s affectionate reception, Somanna emphasized the significance of community involvement in cleanliness efforts. In a separate event, Vijayendra conducted special prayers at the Shri Huchhurayaswamy Temple in Shikaripura, reflecting on Modi’s two-and-a-half decades of devoted service to the country.
Vijayendra noted that since becoming the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001, Modi has been dedicated to serving the nation. He highlighted that Modi will complete 25 years of public service on October 7, 2026, a significant milestone since his tenure began.
Vijayendra prayed for Modi’s long life, good health, and the strength to continue serving the people. He stressed that ensuring justice for the most marginalized sections of society and delivering government welfare schemes to all remains a top priority for Modi.
In line with party efforts, Vijayendra announced the launch of a month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ campaign starting Thursday, coinciding with the nationwide initiative from September 17 to October 17, celebrating Modi’s 25 years of public service.
BJP workers will organize programs at the booth level across all 224 assembly constituencies in Karnataka. At 7 PM, they will light lamps with the public, praying for Modi’s long life and greater strength in serving the nation. He urged party members to spread the message of Modi’s various welfare schemes and vision to every household.
The event was attended by several party leaders, including Mandal president Hanumantappa, city president Raghavendra S.S., and other prominent figures within the BJP.
