Jitu Patwari Faces Legal Troubles as Arrest Warrant Issued by Court

Gwalior, July 1: Jitu Patwari, the president of the Congress party’s Madhya Pradesh unit, is facing increasing legal challenges. A special MP MLA court in Gwalior has issued an arrest warrant against him, instructing him to appear in court on July 27.

The case is linked to statements made during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Patwari had accused Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate Devashish Jarariya from the Bhind parliamentary constituency of colluding with the BJP for financial transactions.

In response to Patwari’s allegations, Jarariya filed a complaint at the Umri police station. He also submitted a CD containing a video recording of Patwari’s statement to the police. The court held hearings on this matter and issued a notice for Patwari to appear on January 16, 2026. However, he failed to attend the court session.

The police argued that they could not locate Patwari. The court expressed strong objections, noting that Patwari has been participating in public events and making statements, raising questions about the police’s inability to find him.

As a result, the special MP MLA court in Gwalior has issued an arrest warrant for Jitu Patwari and directed the Bhind Superintendent of Police to ensure his presence in court on July 27.
