Jammu, July 30: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have seized properties belonging to four terrorists based in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). This information was disclosed by the police on Thursday.
The identified terrorists are Abdul Rashid, Ghulam Rasool, Abdul Latif Naik, and Mushtaq Ahmed.
Among the seized properties is an 11 marla ancestral land, valued at approximately ₹9.25 lakh, belonging to Abdul Rashid, also known as Bashir, from Jhinhal, Banihal.
Additionally, the police confiscated 10 kanals of land under Khewat number 89, which holds only agricultural rights and is valued at around ₹60 lakh. This land belongs to Ghulam Rasool, also known as Badshah, from Kundan Khari.
Another seizure includes three kanals of ancestral land under Khewat number 107/108, valued at approximately ₹20 lakh, owned by Abdul Latif Naik, also known as Sajjad, from Koot Khari, Banihal.
Furthermore, two marlas of land under Khewat number 72, valued at about ₹1.52 lakh, were seized from Mushtaq Ahmed, a resident of Charil, Banihal.
SSP Arun Gupta stated, “The Ramban police have seized 13 kanals and 13 marlas of immovable property belonging to four terrorists under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The Ramban police are committed to taking strict action against the network of terrorism and its supporters.”
The police emphasized that this operation is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle the support system for terrorism, ensuring that terrorists and their associates do not benefit from illegally held properties. The statement also noted that such legal actions aim to maintain law and order and strengthen the rule of law.
As part of aggressive campaigns to eliminate the support system for terrorism in the union territory, security forces are actively targeting terrorists and their supporters.
