Kasganj, August 31: A devastating road accident in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh, occurred on Monday morning, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and leaving 23 others injured. The victims were en route to Soron for the immersion of ashes. All injured parties have been admitted to the district hospital in Kasganj for treatment.
According to reports, the collision took place near Shiv Inter College Kantor, close to Mohanpura. A Max pickup truck collided violently with a larger truck, causing chaos at the scene. Upon receiving news of the accident, local officials, including the District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police, rushed to the site.
Senior Superintendent of Police OP Singh stated that there were a total of 26 passengers in the Max pickup, all from the Karauli district of Rajasthan, heading to Soron for the immersion ceremony. The accident occurred around 4 AM.
Singh confirmed that while all injured individuals were transported to the district hospital, three succumbed to their injuries. The deceased include two men and one woman. Among the 23 injured, there are seven children, eight women, and eight men.
Furthermore, OP Singh mentioned that six of the injured have been referred to Aligarh for advanced medical care, while the remaining patients continue to receive treatment at the district hospital.
Earlier on the same day, two separate road accidents in Uttar Pradesh claimed eight lives. One incident occurred in the Jewar area of Greater Noida, while the other took place in Hapur.
In Greater Noida, a truck lost control on the Yamuna Expressway, crashing through barriers and colliding with a car traveling from Noida to Agra. The impact was so severe that all four occupants of the car were critically injured and later pronounced dead at the hospital.
In Hapur, a high-speed Thar overturned on the Ganga Expressway, resulting in the deaths of four young men. This tragic event happened late Sunday night into early Monday in the Simbhawali area. The deceased have been identified as Joginder, Sukbir, Jaswant, and Ravi, all residents of Badaun.
