Tehran, April 7: Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, expressed sorrow over the death of a senior general from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). He stated that “murders and crimes” against Iranian leadership will not hinder the country’s progress. The senior general was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Tehran on Monday.
According to Xinhua News Agency, Khamenei praised the decades of “silent efforts” made by Majid Khademi, the head of the IRGC, in the fields of security, intelligence, and defense. He accused Israel and the United States of resorting to “terrorism and murder” after facing continuous defeats.
Khamenei extended his condolences to Khademi’s family, colleagues, and other commanders within the IRGC’s intelligence organization. Khademi had recently been appointed as the head of the intelligence organization, previously serving as the chief of the IRGC’s intelligence security organization.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, condemned the attacks carried out by the U.S. and Israel on Sharif University of Technology in the capital. The attacks caused significant damage to the information technology center building and a gas station located near the educational center’s mosque.
On Sunday, Iran’s military announced that it targeted petrochemical industries and petroleum storage facilities in southern Israel, as well as U.S. equipment depots, satellite communication units, and stationed troops in Kuwait.
Notably, on February 28, Israel and the United States conducted joint attacks on Tehran and several other Iranian cities, resulting in the deaths of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, senior military commanders, and civilians. In retaliation, Iran launched missile and drone strikes targeting Israeli and U.S. bases and assets in the Middle East.
