New Delhi, April 10: Amid escalating military attacks and violations of ceasefire in Lebanon, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has indicated the possibility of direct dialogue with Lebanon. This conversation will primarily focus on the disarmament of Hezbollah and establishing lasting peace between the two nations.
Netanyahu has signaled a significant move towards initiating direct talks with Lebanon, instructing his government to commence discussions as soon as possible.
According to a post from the Government Press Office of Israel on the social media platform ‘X’, Prime Minister Netanyahu stated, “In light of Lebanon’s repeated requests to begin talks with Israel, I have directed that direct conversations with Lebanon start as soon as possible.” He emphasized that the discussions would center on Hezbollah’s disarmament and fostering peaceful relations between Israel and Lebanon.
Netanyahu also expressed appreciation for the appeal made by Lebanon’s Prime Minister on Thursday to demilitarize Beirut.
It is important to note that Israeli attacks have raised serious questions about regional stability. Iran has issued a clear warning that if these actions continue, its fingers remain on the trigger.
Iran has condemned repeated aggressions against Lebanon as a gross violation of the ceasefire agreement. They assert that ongoing aggression will render negotiations meaningless. Iran has vowed never to abandon its Lebanese brothers and sisters, indicating a dangerous lack of commitment to both deception and potential agreements.
Iranian President Masoud Pajeshkian posted on the social media platform ‘X’, stating, “Israel’s renewed incursions into Lebanon are an open violation of the initial ceasefire agreement. This is a dangerous sign of a lack of commitment to future potential agreements. Continued actions will make negotiations meaningless. Our fingers remain on the trigger. Iran will never abandon its Lebanese brothers and sisters.”
Media reports indicate that U.S. Vice President Vance is preparing to visit Islamabad for negotiations aimed at ending the U.S.-Iran conflict. This comes after a two-week ceasefire agreement between the U.S. and Iran, with discussions mediated by Pakistan.
Meanwhile, regarding the arrival of the Iranian delegation in Pakistan, Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, shared information on social media, although he later deleted his post.
