Irans IRGC Warns of Utilizing New Military Capabilities Amid Ongoing Conflict

Tehran, April 14: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a warning that it will deploy new military capabilities if the conflict with the United States and Israel persists. This information was reported by the semi-official Fars news agency.

IRGC spokesperson Hossein Mohbbi stated, “We have not yet utilized our capabilities, and if the war continues, we will reveal capabilities that the enemy is unaware of.”

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for Iran’s Defense Ministry, Reza Talaee Nik, announced on Monday that the capabilities of the Iranian armed forces are continuously increasing. He emphasized that they possess sufficient missiles, drones, weapons, ammunition, and other military equipment to sustain both offensive and defensive operations in the future. This information was relayed by the Xinhua news agency, citing Iran’s official news agency IRNA.

On the same day, Ismail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, wrote on the social media platform X that the U.S. attempts to impose a blockade in the Strait of Hormuz represent “selective retaliation” against the global economy.

Delegations from Iran and the United States engaged in extensive talks in Islamabad over the weekend to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East. These discussions followed a ceasefire announced on Wednesday after 40 days of fighting between Iran, the U.S., and Israel, but no agreement was reached.

Earlier on Monday, the U.S. military announced the initiation of a blockade on all Iranian ports and coastal areas, stating that only vessels traveling between non-Iranian ports would be allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Former U.S. President Donald Trump warned on Truth Social that if any Iranian ship approaches the blockade, the U.S. military would “destroy” it.

Trump remarked, “The Iranian navy is lying deep in the sea, with a total of 158 ships having been destroyed. Those we haven’t attacked are some of their ‘fast attack ships’ because we did not consider them a significant threat.”

He issued a stern warning: “Warning: If any of these ships come near our blockade, they will be eliminated immediately, just as we do with drug traffickers at sea.”
