Investigation Intensifies into Ram Temple Donation Controversy, SIT to Question Anil Mishra

Ayodhya, July 29: Following directives from the Supreme Court, the investigation into the alleged embezzlement of donations at the Ram Temple has gained momentum. The newly formed Special Investigation Team (SIT) is rapidly advancing its inquiries. It is believed that the SIT may question former trustee Anil Mishra in connection with the case.

During the investigation, statements from bank employees who counted the donations have already been recorded. The process of taking statements from officials associated with the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has now commenced.

According to officials, preparations are underway to record the statement of former trustee Dr. Anil Mishra. The process of issuing him a notice has also begun. It is expected that the SIT will question Dr. Mishra based on bank records, documents, and other evidence collected thus far.

Sources indicate that if necessary, other officials connected to the trust, including Gopal Rao, may also be questioned during the investigation.

On July 20, the Supreme Court directed the formation of a new SIT under the supervision of senior IPS officers for a thorough investigation into the matter. Following this, the Uttar Pradesh government established a three-member SIT led by Inspector General of Police Kiran S.

This team includes Somen Verma, Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Ayodhya range, and Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Gaurav Grover. Since the formation of the SIT, the investigation has accelerated, with the team focused on gathering crucial evidence related to the alleged irregularities.

However, the new SIT has yet to hold any formal meetings. Police officials state that the investigation is progressing steadily and systematically.

Earlier, on July 26, the Uttar Pradesh government officially restructured the SIT to investigate allegations of discrepancies in donations and offerings at the Ram Temple.

Meanwhile, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust decided to postpone the appointment of its first Chief Executive Officer for nearly a month during a special meeting held on July 22. Nevertheless, to enhance communication and better relay information related to the temple, the trust appointed a spokesperson.

During the meeting, the trust also approved the appointment of a full-time General Secretary. Additionally, it decided to reorganize the religious committee to maintain the sanctity, purity, and traditional form of worship and religious practices within the temple complex.
