Srinagar, September 12 (Daily Kiran) : A Jammu court has issued a new non-bailable warrant against Hafiz Saeed, the leader of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, on September 12. He is accused of providing weapons, funding, and instructions to terrorists operating in Kashmir. This marks the second warrant issued against him in just two months, prompting strong reactions from political leaders.
BJP leader Altaf Thakur emphasized the connection between Saeed and various attacks in India, stating, “From Mumbai to Kashmir, Hafiz Saeed has played a significant role in orchestrating these assaults. He has been instrumental in radicalizing Kashmiri youth into terrorism. We can say he has declared a war against India. Terrorist organizations have wreaked havoc in Jammu and Kashmir, leading to numerous deaths. The issuance of this second non-bailable warrant is a positive step. Hafiz Saeed should be brought to Jammu and hanged in Lal Chowk.”
Thakur further identified Saeed as one of the three main terrorist leaders, alongside Masood Azhar and Syed Salahuddin, asserting that they have left no stone unturned in terrorizing Jammu and Kashmir. The warrant from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) highlights Saeed’s status as one of the most wanted terrorists.
Former Jammu and Kashmir DGP Kuldeep Khoda noted that Lashkar-e-Taiba has been involved in terrorism since its inception in 1992, with Saeed as its prominent figure. He stated, “Lashkar has conducted various terrorist activities, particularly with the support of the Pakistani establishment, including the army and ISI.”
Khoda added that Saeed has been pivotal in recruiting and brainwashing young men to commit acts of terror. He pointed out that India has filed numerous cases against him, supported by evidence. “Pakistan is the hub of terrorism, and its army is complicit. Hafiz Saeed is a key player in spreading terror. This sends a global message that India is persistently demanding accountability, yet Pakistan remains uncooperative,” he said.
Another former DGP of Jammu and Kashmir, SP Vaid, echoed Khoda’s sentiments, stating, “He has committed heinous acts in India. The NIA is taking the right steps; there should be hundreds of warrants against him.”
