New Delhi, September 12 (Daily Kiran) : The BRICS Summit, currently taking place at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, features a remarkable culinary arrangement by ITC Hotels. Guests and journalists from around the world are being treated to an array of Indian and global cuisines at the media center.
Manisha, a corporate chef at ITC, shared insights about the diverse menu. “We are showcasing various dishes. For the past day and a half, we’ve been presenting offerings from our brands like Bukhara, Dum Pukht, South, and Kebabs & Curries, allowing every participant to experience them,” she explained.
She emphasized the importance of catering to an international audience. “When we create the menu, we know guests from all over the world will be present. Therefore, we include Indian dishes, as well as Chinese and Western options. Our aim is to ensure that while they enjoy Indian cuisine, their own preferences are also considered. Today, we’ve highlighted dishes from various countries,” Manisha added.
Expressing pride in being selected for this high-profile event, she noted, “We also catered at the G20 and AI Summit. Each summit presents us with a challenge to showcase our country, and it’s an honor to be recognized for our contributions.”
The event has brought together over 100 expert chefs from ITC’s 140 hotels across India. Rajdeep Kapoor, an area chef at ITC, encouraged attendees to savor the Indian dishes offered.
Rajneesh Mallar, a representative from ITC Hotels, expressed pride in partnering with the BRICS Summit. “This media center hosts both international and domestic media. We take immense pride in representing the BRICS nations at this prestigious summit. The culinary arts we present reflect the diverse backgrounds of our guests. The menu has been meticulously crafted to satisfy global tastes while showcasing the best of Indian cuisine,” he said.
ITC, originally founded as the Imperial Tobacco Company of India Limited in 1910, rebranded in 1970 and eventually became ITC Limited in 1974. The hotel division began in 1975 with its first property in Chennai and now operates over 150 properties under brands like ITC Hotels and Welcome Hotels.
