Jammu, September 12 (Daily Kiran) : A special court in Jammu has issued a new non-bailable warrant against Hafiz Saeed, the chief of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. This action is in response to allegations that he has been providing weapons, funding, and guidance to terrorists in Kashmir. This marks the second warrant issued against him in just two months.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) court’s special judge reviewed the prosecution’s arguments before making the ruling. The judge stated, “After hearing the NIA’s Chief Investigation Officer and examining the application along with relevant documents, it is evident from the records that the accused’s involvement in terrorism has been established during the investigation.”
The judge further noted, “Considering that the accused remains at large and the investigation agency has been unable to present him in a conventional manner, this petition is approved.” Consequently, a general non-bailable arrest warrant has been issued against Hafiz Muhammad Saeed.
The court also directed that the warrant be sent to the Deputy Inspector General of NIA Jammu for execution in accordance with legal procedures. This order was issued on September 8. Hafiz Saeed, the founder of the Pakistan-based banned terrorist organization, is one of the most wanted global terrorists in India. He is currently facing stringent legal actions from the NIA related to significant cross-border conspiracies and high-profile attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
Indian agencies are actively seeking his custody, with intelligence reports suggesting that certain elements within Pakistan’s system are attempting to shield him. Saeed is listed as a global terrorist by the United Nations, and the U.S. government has placed a $10 million bounty on his head.
