Quetta, September 12 (Daily Kiran) : A human rights organization, the Baloch National Movement (BNM), has accused Pakistani authorities of orchestrating a campaign of militarization and oppression in Balochistan. The group reports that violence and displacement have become part of everyday life for civilians in the region.
The BNM highlighted the gruesome discovery of mutilated bodies of Baloch citizens along roadsides as evidence of the brutality and inhumanity of the violence.
In a statement, the organization asserted, “What is happening in Balochistan is not a series of isolated incidents, but a systematic policy of militarization, destruction of livelihoods, displacement, and violence against civilian life. Bodies are left on the streets, illustrating the inhumanity of the violence. People are forced to continue their daily lives while passing by these corpses.”
The BNM expressed serious concern over the deteriorating situation in the Mastung district of Balochistan, where thousands of livelihoods dependent on agriculture are allegedly being destroyed under government policies. This destruction threatens both the land and employment of the local population.
The statement continued, “While the world struggles to save forests and land amid a climate crisis, here trees are being cut down.”
The organization accused authorities of taking steps towards the complete displacement of local communities in the Shor Parod area of Mastung. According to the BNM, this process goes beyond mere relocation; it aims to sever the ties of land, water, livestock, livelihoods, and generations with their ancestral land.
Such incidents are part of a broader pattern of violence against citizens in Balochistan. The BNM cited the example of the Shadi-Kaur area in Gwadar district, where villages have been abandoned, fields have been devastated, and communities have been forced to leave their homes.
Similar conditions are emerging in the Khadkocha area of Mastung, where drones hover over civilian neighborhoods, and people are being killed or injured while working in their own orchards.
The organization emphasized that these incidents cannot be dismissed as “collateral damage” but should be viewed as the human cost of the policies enacted by Pakistani authorities.
The BNM claimed that fear, economic devastation, displacement, and aerial violence are not separate issues in Balochistan; rather, they are part of a single strategy aimed at making the land uninhabitable for its people.
The organization called on the international community to pay attention to the situation in Balochistan, stating that silence and inaction only allow this violence to go unchecked.
