Husband Kills Wife with Gas Cylinder in Domestic Dispute

New Delhi, March 30: A tragic incident occurred late Sunday night in the Pul Prahladpur area, where a husband allegedly murdered his wife during a domestic dispute. The accused reportedly struck his wife multiple times on the head with a small gas cylinder, leading to her death. Following the attack, he sat beside her lifeless body while holding their 18-month-old daughter.

Upon receiving information, the police arrived at the scene, sent the body for post-mortem, and took the husband into custody. A neighbor revealed, “Suresh killed his wife Poonam, who had an 18-month-old daughter. They had been living in DDA housing for a month. The husband allegedly suspected his wife’s character, which led to the murder. He first struck her with the cylinder and then broke her arm, resulting in her death. We have taken the baby and will hand her over to acquaintances. The police took the accused away.”

Another neighbor recounted, “We heard cries for help on Sunday night. When I came down from my room, I learned there was a fight on the first floor. When we went to the room from where the noise came, the door was locked. We called the landlord, who opened the door. Inside, we found the woman dead with the cylinder beside her. The husband was standing next to her with the baby.”

This incident follows another violent event on March 17 in the Rani Bagh area, where a dispute over food at a wedding escalated into a brawl. A 17-year-old named Nikhil Yadav intervened but was fatally attacked by assailants wielding knives. Another young man who tried to help was also seriously injured and required hospitalization.
