
New Delhi, April 3: The police in the Patparganj Industrial Area have successfully apprehended three suspects involved in a jewelry theft, showcasing their vigilance and prompt action. The case was solved through continuous investigation, technical surveillance, and field intelligence. Notably, one suspect was caught at the scene, while the other two were arrested in different locations in Haryana.
The incident occurred on March 29, 2026. Ravinder Yadav, who works at a jewelry store in Chandni Chowk, was returning home after his shift. He was carrying three packets of jewelry, two of which he concealed under his vest, and one in his pants pocket. As he approached the footbridge near Anand Vihar railway station, three young men surrounded him. One suspect grabbed him, while the others forcibly snatched the jewelry packet from his pocket.
Upon hearing the victim’s cries for help, a nearby police patrol quickly arrived at the scene and apprehended one suspect, Prashant. However, his two accomplices managed to escape. Following the incident, a case was registered at the Patparganj Industrial Area police station, and an investigation commenced.
Given the seriousness of the case, a special police team was formed to interrogate the arrested suspect. During questioning, he revealed the names of his accomplices, Bablu and Tarzan. The police then initiated a search based on technical surveillance and local intelligence.
After persistent efforts, the police learned that suspect Bablu was hiding in the village of Bangad in the Kundli area of Sonipat district, Haryana. The police raided the location and arrested him. The third suspect, Tarzan, was tracked to Meerut but initially evaded capture. Nevertheless, the police maintained their surveillance and eventually arrested him from a house near the Mahendergarh bypass in Sonipat based on solid information.
During the investigation, the police also recovered the vehicles used in the crime, including a Bullet motorcycle and a scooter. According to the police, all three suspects are originally from Haryana. Driven by the lure of quick money, they committed this crime. All suspects are now in custody, and further questioning is underway. The police are also investigating whether these suspects have been involved in any other criminal activities.
